![]() It takes three mouse strokes to generate a 3D component and each stroke defines one dimension of the component. Scheduled to be demonstrated at Siggraph Asia 2013 in November, the software "3-Sweep" lets the user to select an object in a photo by swiping along them with a mouse cursor. With just a few mouse clicks, a software can extract an 3D object out of a photograph and turns it into a 3D, editable creation. Scientists at Tel-Aviv University in Israel and Tsinghua University in Beijing have moved the cut-and-paste into the third dimension. ![]()
